Tara Foley

About Me

My name is Tara J. Foley, C.P.A., M.S., B.S. My skills and areas of expertise include strategy, process improvement, leadership and management, negotiation and customer client service.

My previous professional title is COO/CFO for Everest Scaffolding Inc., and also Upright Hoisting Inc. In these two positions I lead the companies in operations, finance, legal, marketing, human resources, training, IT, customer service and sales.

As COO/CFO I created operating infrastructures for these ever growing companies which has led to increased efficiency in process, procedures and financial strength through a recession and beyond.

After creating and implementing processes and procedures to build the infrastructure needed I then hired the right people and continuously trained them. After my first year the companies grew quickly and I continued to hire new people and with my leadership skills I trained the staff to build their departments with the right people, greater efficiency and effectiveness.

Prior to being a part of the Everest/Upright team, my career grew in the consulting world of Arthur Andersen for 7 years and then PricewaterhouseCoopers for 7 years; where from a staff person till Director level I created and led National Teams from Tax to Advisory services and worked directly with the Vice Chairman as Chief of Staff for two of those years. The skills attained from my hard work and dedication that lead to my earning the titles at those two prestigious firms is extremely valuable to me.

My hobbies and interests include teaching, sports, skiing and Tough Mudder/Spartan running events.

Being a part of the consulting field we are afforded many benefits including training and development. As you grow in your field your training grows which can include developing and teaching courses if you choose. Teaching is what I believe every person should do each day when you are working with staff. It came natural to me and I won awards at Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCoopers for training and mentoring. So, in a way to give back to the community I became an Adjunct Professor at Lehman College in the Bronx. It is a wonderful experience as I teach 2 classes. One is Intermediate Accounting 1 and the other is Intermediate Accounting 2 each semester.

Sports is so important to children's growth as it teaches communication, teamwork, hard work, leadership, dedication and how to come back from and deal with losing. My goal is to pass on my experiences to the next generation of leaders so since 1992 I have been a volunteer coach coaching travel basketball teams throughout Westchester and Putnam Counties.
