About Me

My name is Sheila Bittle, Ph.D., APRN PMHCNS BC. My skills and areas of expertise include overseeing the entire operations of my private practice. We specialize on focusing on the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of mental, emotional and behavioral health issues. As a Board Certified Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, (APRN), I use psychotherapy and other counseling skills to improve the emotional and mental health outcomes of my patients. Because knowledge is power when applied, as Training Director I provide the groundwork for the clinical supervision of graduate and undergraduate students and interns in the application of psychiatric mental health nursing, psychotherapy and prescriptive practice. I'm very active with regard to community advocacy and am working diligently to change public policies affecting the full practice authority of advanced practice nurses. I serve on the Legislative Task Force of UNP. I am President at Medical Towers Family Therapy, which specializes in psychotherapy and prescriptive practice. I received my Master's Degree and PhD in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Utah. I am currently on the Board of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Utah Chapter, have served as a member of the Utah Nursing Association, the Utah Mental Health Association, Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Peer Advisory Committee to State Board of Nursing. I have earned awards for recognition of my contribution to Advanced Practice Nursing. My hobbies and interests include golfing, dancing, reading and spending time with my husband and family. I love to travel. Some of the many places we've ventured to include Colorado, Washington. Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Washington D.C. Up next is a fabulous trip to Hawaii.
