Paula Tretkoff


About Me

My professional title is Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA. I am also Research Director at the CNRS (National Center for Science Research) in France. I am currently involved with AMS (American Mathematical Society), AWM (Association for Women in Mathematics), AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science), and AAUW (American Association of University Women). I will be a member of the Steering Committee of the Women's Faculty Network at Texas A&M University come Fall 2017.

I am an author for the College Algebra module of, an online company promoting learning through interactive practice for College math and science, Advanced Placement®, SAT®, ACT®, GRE®, GMAT®, literature, social science, history, and more.

I am married. I am passionate about several charitable organizations such as the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals), and WWF (World Wildlife Foundation). I am also involved with advocacy groups for consumers of mental health, for example, NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and BringChange2Mind.

In my spare time, I love hiking, reading, listening to classical music, furthering my education in both science and the humanities, and watching movies. I spend the Summer and Winter breaks in Alaska.
