About Me

Laura A. Mintz is a partner at Barrocas, Mintz, Misuraca & Record, PC. Ms. Mintz is an experienced family law attorney who works with her clients to develop a strategy tailored to achieving a successful resolution, whether through litigation or a negotiated settlement. Ms. Mintz has focused her practice exclusively to the litigation and negotiation of complex divorce matters, representing clients including lawyers, doctors, business owners, executives, professionals, and their spouses. She has successfully litigated cases to conclusion involving small businesses, executive compensation plans, trusts, and high-conflict custody matters. Ms. Mintz educates clients about the divorce process and offers a fair and realistic assessment of their case. She believes in working with clients to execute a successful strategy.

Ms. Mintz earned her undergraduate degree at Hofstra University. She obtained her law degree from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuschsberg Law Center, where she graduated Cum Laude. While at Touro, Ms. Mintz participated in the Family Law Clinic where she represented clients in domestic violence cases, served as counsel on trials and hearings, interviewed clients, negotiated with opposing counsel, and represented clients in child support and paternity hearings while under the supervision of Nassau/Suffolk Law Services, and Professor Lewis Silverman.

Ms. Mintz is a member of the Family Law Section of the New York State Bar Association, the Nassau County Bar Association, where she is on the Matrimonial Law Committee, as well as the Womens Bar Association. Ms. Mintz is also a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity.

Ms. Mintz was a guest lecturer for "Bridge the Gap - A Matrimonial Primer" in 2012.

Ms. Mintz has worked with the Coalition of Domestic Violence to represent clients on a pro-bono basis in matrimonial matters, where the clients are victims of domestic violence.
