About Me

My name is Kelly Daniels, M.B.A., B.S.N., R.N., C.M.U.P. - my career ambition is to never work another day in my life. That is, I never want to have to CALL it "work"! And, so far so good... I am very passionate about what I do, and thankful for the scale at which my current role enables me to positively impact the lives of so many patients and families. As the Director of MU Operations Implementation, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team whose goal is to ensure a CMS-compliant design and build - and the successful deployment and adoption of - CHS's homegrown inpatient electronic health record system to help make healthcare more meaningful.

Professionally, nearly a decade of my 24 years of healthcare experience has focused on multiple facets of Healthcare Information Technology, emphasizing process design, program and infrastructure development, business operations, workflow optimization and physician adoption for both inpatient and outpatient environments. I have worked at the corporate level for multiple healthcare organizations including one of the largest hospital systems in the U.S., developing governance infrastructures, implementing enterprise-wide communication strategies, customizing and deploying physician adoption strategies, and re-designing workflows based on EHR functionality, corporate standards, governmental quality program compliance and standardization opportunities. Prior to my Nursing Director role I worked as a Clinical Workflow Consultant for a top 5 health system, providing support for all aspects of go-live implementation and post go-live optimization. I has also held more technical roles such as software trainer, database designer and clinical data analyst, co-authoring a number of publications and presentation for high-profile organizations such as the World Society for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery and the American College of Cardiology. I hold a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri with an emphasis in Management of Information Systems, and a Bachelor in the Science of Nursing from University of South Alabama. I am currently involved with Sigma Theta Tau and Omicron Delta Kappa.

Personally, I have owned and operated Summerland - a small scale rescue for sick and abandoned animals. I also started Conversation Pieces - a small web-based costume jewelry-making business. I am a certified woodworker and love power tools, my daughter, my new husband, and being a grandma. I am drawn to and passionate about charitable organizations such as Crime Stoppers USA, and fill the role of Project Manager for their Resource Development Committee. In the words of my amazing husband... "there is much to be thankful for."
