About Me

My name is Kathie Sorensen and I am an author, entrepreneur, consultant, and radio talk show host. I am co-founder of The Coffman Organization, Inc., an international research and consulting organization. My new book: Culture Eats Strategy for Lunch: the secret to extraordinary performance, co-authored with my partner, Curt Coffman is a testament to individual talent and the impact of culture on each of us.

A former global practice leader for the talent selection and development at the Gallup Organization, I have studied thousands of outstanding people in nearly every walk of life (salespeople, leaders, entrepreneurs, engineers, managers, teachers, etc.) to understand the unique aspects of their talent and the cultural elements that help us maximize those incredible gifts. I have developed high impact solutions in all aspects of employee engagement, leadership development and people management.

Having worked directly with executives and business leaders from nearly every industry, I have seen first hand how the workplace either encourages or drains our energy. Every Friday morning, I co-host Voice America Business Channel’s program: A Great Place to Work, where we help people build a better workplace for a better life.

I earned a Ph.D. and MA from the University of Nebraska specializing in organizational communication. My husband Jim and I currently live on the Central Coast of California where our daughter, Annabelle, is an undergraduate student Cal Poly.
