About Me

I have always enjoyed being part of an entrepreneurial small business although I began my career with what is now known as Deloitte Touche. After a few months at Deloitte I learned that I had passed the CPA exam with an Elijah Watt Sells Award for passing the exam with High Distinction (high scores). My former spouse, a physician had a very heavy call schedule and mommy tracks were unheard of, so while I really liked working at Deloitte, I had no choice but to resign when we started a family. Devoting 50 plus hours to work was not an option.
When we raised a very young family, I worked part time for a Charlotte based local CPA firm and spent the last three years there as partner in charge of accounting and audit services. It was a great time of learning about small businesses. I started dreaming about one day being able to have my own.
After a decade in public accounting, I joined one of my client companies in the 1990's, a medical office and small office developer, first as CFO and later became CEO. This was a closely held family business with several lines of business including an in-house construction company.
The 1990's and early 2000's were a time of tremendous growth in Charlotte; the company thrived and we developed and managed a portfolio Class A medical and commercial office buildings. During my years there, I received a Charlotte Business Journal 2006 Women in Business Achievement Award.
In 2010, after a lengthy and careful search, I acquired World Class CME from its founder, Dr. Timothy Blackwelder, a radiologist who practices in Seattle, WA. My dream of one day having my own family business was finally here.
My husband, George Wilson, and I love the outdoors, dancing, travel, golf, friends, the Carolina coast and of course our "Brady Bunch" of three sons and three daughters and their growing families.
