President - NAPW Local Naperville Chapter

About Me

I am honored to have the opportunity to be the President of the NAPW Local Naperville Chapter. My goal is that the Chapter will grow and learn together as we communicate and collaborate with each other. This profile is to share my personal experiences.
I worked at AT&T in Chicago, Illinois for 29 years. During that time, I progressed to various positions that gave me the knowledge of telecommunication infrastructure. The opportunities included: Data Entry, District Secretary, Telephone Installer, Technical Consultant, Building Manager, Corporate Network Sales Executive, and Dedicated Sales Team Member for a nationwide banking institution.
After leaving AT&T, I taught Telecommunication at Devry University as a Senior Professor for 10 years. I taught classes to Data Managers and traditional college students who wanted to learn infrastructure, such as tools and cable differences between fiber and copper wire, router processes in the telecommunication Cloud, and Software Defined Networks (SDN). I also was responsible for seeking internships for graduating seniors who were required to find and complete a technology field project during their last semester. It was my responsible to mentor students, provide a weekly written progress report, and evaluate the completed presentation before a student could graduate.
In 2009, I entered Northern Illinois University (NIU) to acquire Master and Doctoral degrees in Education. I already had a Master in Marketing. I was selected to teach Literacy at NIU for 4 and ¼ years while I was taking NIU graduate classes. I received my Master in Education in June 2012. I completed my Doctorate in Education in January 2013. To receive the degrees a year apart, I used my electives to complete extra education classes. As a result, I acquired a K-12 certification and an endorsement in Special Education. I also was chosen to be an intern at the ACT,Inc headquarters located in Iowa City, Iowa to design an instructional manual to explain to educators and parents how to interpret the scoring of WorkKeys tests.
Learning never stops.
