About Me

Hello my name is Dr. Felecia F. Barnes. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I attended the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, in which I wanted to pursue a career in law as an Attorney. During my junior year in high school as I volunteered in hospice care. I decided to change my career to healthcare. I received my doctorate degree in pharmacy from Xavier University of Louisiana, May 2000.I am currently a Clinical Consultant Pharmacist with Anthem Inc and have practiced as a retail pharmacist with CVS/Caremark for 17 years. Throughout my tenure I have held such roles as Regional Support Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager and District Supervisor Emerging Leader. My responsibilities have included Pharmacist interviewing, hiring, mentoring and training. I am a certified APhA Immunization Trainer. In my downtime I am active in the community, as I conduct "Career Day" events at local elementary and high schools, "Brown Bag" counseling events, and immunizations at senior assisted living facilities. I have served as business partner on Clay Elementary School Council,Literacy Tutor with Cobb Communities in Schools, volunteer with RealityU at Pebblebrook High School, Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, Journey to Literacy. I have served as Vice President for National Pharmacist Association (NPhA-2005-2007), moderator at American Pharmacist Association (APhA) convention. I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated., The Junior League of Atlanta, Inc,Georgia Pharmacist Association (GPhA), American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), American Pharmacist Association (APhA).
