Bonnie Weiner

About Me

Dr. Weiner received her BA from Mills College and her MD from the University of Oregon Medical School. She has since received both Masters of Science in E-Commerce and MBA degrees. She is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases, and interventional cardiology. In addition, Dr. Weiner is a Fellow of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), the American College of Cardiology, and the Council on Clinical Cardiology. She is a Past President of SCAI.

Dr. Weiner is the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research at Worcester Medical Cent. From 1977-2002, she was a member of the faculty at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMMC) where she enjoyed a distinguished career as a clinician, academician, and research scientist in cardiovascular medicine. After completing her postdoctoral fellowship training, she held the positions of Director of Interventional Cardiology, Chief of Atherosclerosis Research, and Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at UMMC from 1980 to 1998.

During her tenure at U Mass, Dr. Weiner was Principal Investigator for a vast array of industry and government sponsored research activities for pharmaceuticals and medical devices. Dr. Weiner has participated in numerous studies involving the evaluation of innovative, leading edge device technology including balloon catheters as well as intracoronary and carotid stent technology. In addition, she has been a member of numerous clinical trial safety and monitoring committees in the evaluation of new device technology.

She is currently the Director of Interventional Cardiology Research and the Cardiovascular Fellowship Program at St Vincent Hospital in Worcester Massachusetts. She is also the Medical Director of a research and data management company (Boston Biomedical Associates) and is the President of Imaging Core Lab Services which provides angiographic and other imaging core lab services for clinical trials.
