Allison Mowry

About Me

I am currently 21 years old and reside in Central Illiniois, Decatur to be exact. My older sister, Megan and I own and operate our family's business, Mowry Baking Company. We specialize in cakes, cookies, and cupcakes for any occasion. I began baking and decorating cakes at the age of 10 and my business took off at the age of 12 after I paid my tuition to Wilton Institute of Cake Decorating with my profits. I returned to Wilton at 13, where I studied under Colette Peters of The Food Network. At 15 I was blessed with the opportunity to spend my summer in Chicago and attend the Art Institute of Chicago's Pastry School.

I continued to run my own business throughout high school and decided it was my passion and would be my career. My parent's suggested my sister join in the adventure and we turned the front garage of my parent's home into a state-of-the-art commerical kitchen. In just 2 short years we had outgrown our space and established a name and face within our community. We were then able to expand to a storefront in Downtown Decatur.
