This position is responsible for managing the coordination for all Airworthy Directives (Ads) and other regulatory requirements.


  • Controls and oversees the entire AD disposition process.
  • Review and address Federal Aviation Administration regulation changes (as they pertain to ADs), to ensure these are captured and collaborate with the appropriate department(s) (Including but not limited to: Engineering, Materials, Mx Programs, Planning and Flight Ops) that are assigned the action to disposition the requirement.
  • Develops and establishes a general compliance plan. Monitor that plan, analyze and correct any deviations.
  • Develops and drives the continuous improvement of AD handling processes and standards.
    • Looking at established AD requirements, ensures appropriate AD handling occurs within the compliance time intervals by holding "AD" meetings to drive, monitor and track required actions with all applicable departments involved in the implementation.
    • Participates in safety report Investigations related to AD process and compliance to ensure proper documentation and support for the data required.
    • Participates in "Risk Assessments" as it pertains to the execution of AD compliance timeline, process, material availability and airline readiness,
    • Evaluates and drafts FAA Notice of Proposed Rule Making (NPRM) responses to mitigate execution risks.
  • Drives high level company policy changes as it applies to the issuances and tracking of AD compliance methods.
  • Is responsible in delegating and for the oversight of all AD Planning related functions
    • Continually researches and monitors the FAA website to retrieve all new and revised Airworthiness Directives which are applicable to the Airline's fleet of aircraft.
    • Generate reports, and disseminate records when requested by other departments.
    • Assist Regulatory Compliance department with internal (Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, Internal Audit) and external (Regulatory bodies such as FAA and DOT)
    • Carries out the established AD requirements to ensure that all our AD tracking controls and mechanisms are correct (MOC's, Hours, Cycles, Date etc. where applicable) and develops execution plans as such.
    • Airworthiness Directive status data collection and reporting management.
  • Ensures the compliance and documentation of the corrective action plan as a result of the Safety Engineers and Inspectors assessment of risk and documentation of the action plan.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Sr. Director of Maintenance Planning


  • 8 to 10 years' experience in an aviation maintenance environment
  • Technical Records background preferred
  • Trax experience preferred.
  • A & P license preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong leadership and negotiating skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with changing priorities and fixed deadlines
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem solving skills
