Harvard Pilgrim Health Care is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our organization as a Research Assistant for Project Viva. The Research Assistant will conduct research visits with participants (adolescents and their mothers) enrolled in Project Viva and perform administrative tasks related to the study. Project Viva is a longitudinal study of the effects of prenatal diet and lifestyle factors on pregnancy and childhood outcomes, based at the Department of Population Medicine (DPM). The DPM is jointly sponsored by Harvard Medical School and the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Communicate with research participants for scheduling visits and following up as appropriate on visit-related items.
  • Conduct extensive visits with research participants to obtain informed consent, administer questionnaires, collect biospecimen samples, and obtain clinical measurements, such as DXA scans, blood pressure, spirometry and anthropometry.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation and data entry of participant data in study databases.
  • Travel to participant homes in the region to conduct visits as needed and transport biospecimens to local laboratories.
  • Perform administrative functions and tasks related to the research project.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU NEED
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus 2 years related experience; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Capable of completing very detail-oriented tasks.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office; Word and Excel required.
