Position Summary:

Assist customers, stock and maintain the produce department, and actively sell produce and produce related products. Role model and demonstrate the Company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of self and others.

Fred Meyer also requires that all associates perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Model "Customer 1st" behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Maintain stock levels and merchandising standards to Company guidelines
  • Stock shelves and displays in a timely manner consistent with produce department standards
  • Break down coolers; unstack incoming product; rotate current product; restack cooler
  • Maintain quality standards as determined by Company guidelines
  • Clean work area and utensils
  • Answer telephones/pagers
  • Comply with corporate policies
  • Promote and follow Company initiatives
  • Comply with all safety guidelines and standards
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus one month related experience or training; or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends on a regular basis, work any shift and work overtime as needed
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with produce products, terms and processes
  • Ability to work within set time frames
  • Ability to continue education, as necessary

Desired Previous Job Experience:

  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure
  • Six months of food preparation experience
  • Fred Meyer lift truck certification/license
  • Related retail experience
