About the Opportunity:
The primary focus for this position is to provide senior-level leadership and day to day supervision for a team of analysts in HR core programs including recruitment, classification and compensation; employee relations and investigations; human resources information systems (Oracle, Kronos, Halogen, NeoGov, etc.); agency-wide employee training and development; administration of employment laws and regulations; employee transportation management; and employee recognition programs. This position partners closely with other HR team areas, including Race and Social Justice, Labor Relations, Employee Benefits, Safety and Health, Emergency Management, and related areas as assigned. May serve as Acting Human Resources Director.

The ideal candidate has an interest in working in a public agency and upholding the mission and organization values of the Seattle Housing Authority. The candidate is experienced in managing a high volume work environment and is naturally able to successfully balance project and people management. The ability to adapt quickly to respond to customer needs is critical to the success of the individual, department and organization. We are ultimately seeking a leadership style rooted in customer service, innovation and collaboration.

Our Ideal Candidate:
We are seeking candidates who possess a unique combination of well-developed leadership, technical and people skills. Qualified candidates will have at least six years of progressive human resources experience, including at least one year of supervisory experience with a Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources or related field (may substitute an additional four years relevant work experience for the required degree). Experience in LEAN or process improvement is highly desired.

Licenses and Certifications:
Valid Washington driver's license with fully insurable driving record required.
Current PHR/SPHR or SHRM-SCP desirable, but not required.
