The Content Marketing Specialist is a support position that works closely with the Content Creation/Production and Artist Relations teams to plan, create, execute, and market content, musician empowerment programs, and events designed to drive traffic, engagement, and build brand affinity..

Responsibilitieswillincludebutarenotlimitedtothefollowing:



  • Project Management for the execution and communication of musician empowerment and engagement programs including partner and artist integration.

  • Assists in developing strategic content marketing plans and editorial calendar, creation and maintenance of the weekly/monthly creative briefs and promotional calendar for the content on Guitarcenter.com and e-mails.

  • Conducts research and provide artist insight for marketing campaigns, content pieces, programs, and events; oversee artist participation.

  • Coordinates with Creative Services and the Digital teams regarding marketing deliverables and scheduling.

  • Tracks budgets and coordinates payments with the Accounting Department.

  • Assists with music licensing administration.

  • Tracks effectiveness and performance metrics of key content tactics and projects, and provide regularly scheduled reports.


Tojoinourbandyouwillneedthefollowingexperience:



  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Business, Management, Advertising, or related field.

  • 4 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience), preferably with a background in music, entertainment marketing

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Basic proficiency with project management tools (QuickBase, At Task, Base Camp, Clarizen, etc.)

  • Awareness and passion for new media trends and technology

  • Proficiency using web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Site Catalyst, Adobe Test &Target, etc.)

  • Experience working with content management systems (wordpress etc.) preferred

  • HTML a plus.
