The AWS Senior Principal Cloud Engineer is responsible for multiple aspects of the AWS cloud infrastructure including support, maintenance, performance, architecture and strategy. Senior Principal Cloud Engineer will work closely with the cross-functional infrastructure team, application owners, and business analysts.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Consult and support the application development team to help formulate a strategy to leverage solutions in AWS.
  • Lead design discussions to translate business use cases into technical requirements and helping to design solutions to meet those requirements.
  • Working with the Tech team to develop best in class application/service deployment suited for AWS.
  • Capture and share best-practice knowledge on AWS solutions architecture.
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within the organization and providing mentorship with the goal of increasing AWS competency levels.
  • Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business
  • Work with our engineering teams to implement critical infrastructure components
  • Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout the domain


  • 5 - 10 years of experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer, AWS Certification desired
  • 5+ years of IT Infrastructure experience
  • Bachelor's in computer science, related field or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Proven track record automating infrastructure processes on AWS
  • Scripting: Python, PowerShell
  • AWS Infrastructure: Datalakes, IAM, EC2, S3, EBS/EFS, ELB/ALB, AutoScaling, RDS and replication techniques, VPC, Subnets, Elastic IP, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudFront, Lambda, CloudFormation.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to convey cloud technologies and concept to all levels of audience will be important and willingness to collaborate and understand multiple viewpoints will be a must.
  • Experience in delivering large scale, secure and reliable services.
  • Hands on implementation experience with DevOps methodology
  • Experience in working with one of the following tools - Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform
  • Experience with systems, network and application security, encryption
  • Experience with container technologies
  • Ability to participate in on-call support rotation
  • Working in a Research, Pharmaceutical, and FDA regulated environment is a plus
