Audio Technician at WGBH in Boston, MA

WGBY's Production Department is responsible for fulfilling all technical production requests (be they studio or field-based requests), that are submitted by any internal department and or by any external client-based organization.

The primary job function of the audio technician is to provide technical assistance to all internal and external production requests. This person will be responsible for performing all audio recording operations and must have a working knowledge of a Yamaha Digital audio board, Dante audio networking, Pro Tools audio editing, wireless mic systems and file based management workflows, as it relates to audio for studio or field based productions. Possible Avid non-linear video editing may be expected occasionally.

Essential Functions:
75% Successfully facilitate all studio based and field based audio recording requests. Assist with both studio and field based productions and perform the following tasks or responsibilities that may be assigned by the Production Manager: the set up and tear down of station events and activities, studio or field camera operations, studio or field lighting, floor or stage manager and character generation operation, etc.

15% Assist with WGBY field-based operations & productions as well as client based field or studio based efforts that we are asked to facilitate.

6% Perform audio editing and deliver the proper files as needed for digital platform support

2% Participate in stated related events such as but not limited to: station membership drives, special events and other station related community events as required or assigned by the Production Manager

2% Other reasonable related duties as assigned by senior management.
