Sr. Technical Architect

Performs a wide variety of technical architectural assignments by applying architectural practice standards. The incumbent at this level is a fully-qualified Technical Architect who is proficient in developing technical details and Architectural specifications and  all technical aspects of architectural projects.  






Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural reviews, developing technical solutions and details, write up design criteria, and preparing related reports.


This position requires proficient Specification Writing skills and advance familiarity with MasterSpec and SpecsIntact formats. CSI certificate would be a plus. Revit skills are also desirable.




Reviews and coordinate Technical drawings, develop construction documents, and Project Specifications including coordination with other disciplines.  Code Analysis for new projects and review of existing facilities for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. 




Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.




Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Interfaces with suppliers and vendors as required.




Reviews supplier/Vendor's drawings and samples, and performs technical bid analyses.




Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site.  Review, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications.




Provides technical guidance to lower-level Architects and Architectural Designer/Drafters and team members.




Keeps abreast of current technologies via technical subscriptions and attendance at conferences.




Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.




Bachelor's degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required with 10-12 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree and 10+ years related experience.  Professional registration is required at this level. Advance specification writing and coordination skills.



Requires proficiency in Specification Writing (MasterSpecs and SpecsIntact) Developments of architectural Technical standards, practices, techniques, and Construction Documents.  Proficiency in CAD/Revit and other PC software packages (MS Office, Bluebeam) typically associated with architectural practice is also required.The ability to make presentations to clients and others is preferred.
