Join us Wednesday, April 17th from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at TalentLaunch in Independence, OH The IAW (International Association of Women) Cleveland Chapter is hosting a networking event that will help you tap into your creativity & innovation by learning from nature. Christine Hockman, Co-Director of Great Lakes Biomimicry will host an engaging and interactive session that will help you: • Get inspired by some awesome creatures that share Earth with us. • Gain a perspective-shifting look at how learning from nature can spark new ideas, enhance creativity and enrich innovation. • Discover how answers to our problems are already all around us. • Learn how biomimicry can drive real and powerful change in our world and in your company. • Leave reinvigorated and with ideas for using biomimicry in your life or career Unlock a new way of thinking to create disruptive innovations or solve your toughest problems. Biomimicry is the only innovation and design approach that taps into 3.8 billion years of nature’s intelligence, and can help your company enrich innovation, kick-start idea generation, boost creativity, build resiliency and increase sustainability efforts. Great Lakes Biomimicry is a non-profit in Cleveland that helps organizations learn from nature to accelerate innovation. Biomimicry Examples: A product that prevents bacterial growth on surfaces by mimicking the pattern of sharkskin. Plywood made without formaldehyde after learning from the blue mussel’s super sticking abilities. Flooring that can be secured then removed and used again – without glue – modeled after the gecko’s seemingly magical ability to stick to surfaces. That’s biomimicry: learning from nature and imitating its time-tested designs and strategies. The practice helps humans solve problems, innovate and create sustainable solutions, while renewing an appreciation for nature. About Great Lakes Biomimicry: Great Lakes Biomimicry (GLB) is an entrepreneurial non-profit based in Cleveland that helps organizations learn from nature to accelerate innovation. Since its inception in 2010, GLB has created a biomimicry ecosystem in Northeast Ohio that connects businesses, universities, research, startups, and informal and formal education institutions. Jill Windelspecht Next Chapter Meeting is 3/13/19 from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm in Independence, OH. Sign up here: The Cleveland Chapter of IAW (International Association of Women) welcomes you to an Engaging and Collaborative Networking Event. Our speaker, Sally Breyley Parker, Co-Founder of TimeZero Enterprises, will help us understand the linkage to how we manage key energy systems that live within us and within which we live. Experienced as tensions between two choices, these energy systems can polarize us and zap our resources by creating frustration, stress, and angst. When we can see, understand and leverage key polarities, we tap into a invaluable and free source of uninterrupted vigor. We have to get CLARITY and SEE these energy systems to leverage them. The key benefits of awareness & implementing these strategies include helping you move away from stress, frustration, angst, fear and pain and toward feeling better about who you are and living out your purpose. This will be an experience where we will connect with each other and learn about the energy flow of our health. We are an energy system and live in an energy system. The strategies that we will share will help you: Apply the healing power of ‘Both And” Thinking Recognize central generative tensions in your life and tools for managing those tensions Apply them to your health, the health or your team and / or your organization. What is generative tension? It is applying the Law of Polarity and understanding that forces are constantly at play that are at odds with one another. For example, in breathing you are inhaling and then exhaling; without both of those things happening, you would die! Once you recognize these, you will then realize the need to manage these forces and achieve the flow that will help you improve your overall health. The more we can become aware of the energy systems within us and around us, the more we can then move to optimize them by leveraging the strategies that we will share with you. “Seeing is loving, when we can see more fully people and ourselves, we can love more fully”
